She was born September 30, 1863 at Kenosha, WI and resided there until 1881, when she moved to Michigan and married Cornelius Manney. The couple traveled to Vancouver in 1893 and moved to Seattle in 1900. Mrs. Manney had resided in Port Orchard for the past 17 years. Surviving are three sons, Robert of Seattle, Wallace and Arthur, both of Port Orchard, daughters, Mrs. Blanche Sears and Mrs. Iva Gwinn, both of Seattle; 32 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Manney (November 30, 1952) Arthur Sherman Manney, Port Orchard, Rte 1, Box 242, who had worked as a logger with his brother, W. W. "Buck" Manney, until retiring a few years ago, died at a Bremerton hospital this morning. He was 59. Mr. Manney, who came to Port Orchard in 1927, was a member of Port Orchard aerie 2338FOE and Manchester Improvement Club. He came to Port Orchard from Ballard (King County), where he had lived since the turn of the century. He was born in Vancouver, WA on 23 August 1894. In addition to his brothers, two sisters, Mrs. Ivy Gwinn and Mrs. Blanch Van Buren, both of Seattle, survive. The Rev. A. A. Gronberg will conduct last rites Wednesday at 2:30PM at Pendleton-Gilchrist chapel. Sunset lane cemetery will be the place of burial. Obituary for Wallace Manney (June 22, 1971) Funeral services for Wallace W. "Buck" Manny, 72, of 1137 Tacoma Ave, Port Orchard are pending at the Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard. Mr. Manny died yesterday at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born July 12, 1898 in Vancouver (Clark County) WA to Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Manny. The family moved to Seattle when he was one year old. Mr. Manny resided in Seattle until coming to Port Orchard in 1927. He married Bannie (Chapman) Ruhl in Port Orchard, November 23, 1940. Mr. Manny worked as a self-employed logger until his retirement in 1950. Since then he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening as hobbies. Survivors include his wife, of the family home, a stepson, Woodrow W. Ruhl of Tacoma, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Francis (Winifred) Tower of Bremerton, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Obituary for Bannie Manney, wife of Wallace Manney (abt. 1985) Bannie Vera Manney, 93, of 1137 Tacoma St., Port Orchard, died Saturday at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born Bannie Chapin on April 25, 1892 in Douglas County. She married her first husband, W.E. Ruhl of Idaho in 1911. They moved to Kitsap County in 1918. She married Wallis W. Manney in 1940. Mr. Manney died in 1971 and three children preceded her in death. Mrs. Manney is survived by a son, Woodrow Ruhl of Tacoma and a daughter, Winifred Tower of Bremerton. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
